[Albert and Caesar]

I would like a word, when you have the time. In person.

[Katara]

Are you well?

[Richard]

There is something I wish to show you. When is a suitable time to meet?

[With those messages taken care of, Sigmund makes a quick round of the house to check that everything and everyone is well before he starts his morning routine. Unfortunately, this leads to a less than thrilling discovery. Aya's room is empty. Gone. He knows he should be pleased that she's not trapped here any longer... so why does he feel that twinge of loneliness and guilt? He'll knock on both Ed and Capell's doors before he goes, so that he can give them the news. ...Individually. Individually would probably be best.

Oh, and there was that matter he wanted to speak to Edward about, as well... But perhaps today isn't the best day.]

[It does have to do with a sword, though whether or not that leads to practicing is mostly up to Richard. In fact, it has to do with one of the biggest swords most people will ever see.

When Richard arrives, Sigmund is kneeling with the blade laid across his lap, buffing a spot of dirt off with the hem of his (embroidered, probably silk) tunic. Priorities. His are special. Don't worry, Richard, his usual sword and shield are leaning against a tree behind him.]

[Richard has seen some impressive weapons in his day. A double-bladed saber that can be separated into a pair of guns, a staff that doubles as a rifle, a cross between a sword and a boomerang... but never a sword quite that size before. Don't mind him just stopping to stare at it for a moment, Sigmund. He's still not sure how anyone could actually lift that thing, let alone use it in battle.]

... is that yours?

[Sigmund nods, and stands. He doesn't have any difficulty picking the sword up.]

For the moment. Have you ever seen its like?

Nothing of its size, no. Where did you find a weapon like that?

This is a sword from my world. They are uncommon, but not unheard of.

The item shop, then?

[He's coming closer to get a better look at the blade. It's an impressive weapon, there's no denying that.]

Not quite. [Sigmund offers it to him, surprisingly gingerly for a giant hunk of metal.]

You should be familiar with as many weapons as possible.

[Richard reaches out to take it, and...

Clunk. This is the sound of a giant hunk of metal hitting the ground. He's not all that surprised, but it's still a little embarrassing that he can barely lift it even with a concerted effort.]

I'd say this weapon is more effective on oneself than on one's enemies.

[Poor Richard. Although Sigmund can't say that was... entirely unexpected. He reaches out to take it back.]

It requires training and discipline. ...And a great deal of strength.

[Richard is all too happy to hand that sword back over to Sigmund and stop embarrassing himself with it.]

More strength than I have at the moment, apparently.

All weapons are not suited to all wielders.

[Even though he doesn't seem to be struggling with it, it still takes Sigmund two hands to lift the thing. Richard doesn't have to be all that embarrassed.] Would you care to spar?

With you using that weapon?

[He certainly wouldn't object to it, but he does have to wonder how well that sword will work against someone like himself, for whom speed and agility are his primary strengths.]

If you wish. I won't swing it. [Since cutting Richard in half would be rather counterproductive. And rude.]

Then I suppose a short spar couldn't hurt.

[It's good exercise, anyway.]
